questions-01.jpg

  • How long have you been a Professional Coach?  Since January 2004 prior to the "life coaching" phenomenon taking off!
  • Do you have a coach? Yes - absolutely!
  • What is your educational background? Degree in Leisure and Consumer Studies, Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma, Professional Diploma in Management in the Voluntary sector, Dale Carnegie Management Development, The Outward Bound Management Development award, Instructor training (6 weeks) listening skills, advanced interviewing and selection. Change management. HM Forces Instructor courses.
  • What kind of work did you do before becoming a coach? I have experienced a rich degree of roles having started out with the highly successful A4E group as a deputy branch manager, also managing three sales branches and also  marketing manager for a defense sector service agency – became instructor within HM forces at 19.
  • Why did you become a Professional Coach? I have always helped others and got a real buzz from seeing other’s gain success from my assistance – I have coached throughout my sales career and often found myself “coaching” before the term was as widely used as it is today. I have coached individuals in sales, management, individual personal development and even a Rugby team to excel their own expectations.
  • Do you belong to any professional coaching groups? Not yet – I am still looking to establish those that are worth while belonging to – there are lots of new “associations” springing up.
  • Do you have any relevant certifications or distinctions? Yes – my instructors training along with the higher education awards in management – much of it was change related.
  • What experience have you had in this area where I need help?  I have worked extensively with professional people many of whom needed help with establishing the real reasons for their desire for change -   between us we would identify areas of development and then  create a plan against timescales and start the program of ACTION.
  • What would you say your coaching strengths and limitations are? Very motivational and encouraging – able to instill learning in a way that creates desire to learn more - have a nest leaver methodology – similar to an exit strategy – i.e. when the program ends – reduction of dependency.
  • Can you provide me with 5 client references that I may contact? Yes – I've worked with companies such as Royal Armouries plc, Alfred McAlpine plc, Seabrook Crisps, Barclays Bank, and lots of smaller companies including one man bands.   Please call for client written references.
  • Do you have a "minimum" number of sessions you are willing to work? Yes 6.
  • What is a standard length session? How often would we meet? Every two weeks for approx 4 hours
  • What is your coaching philosophy? Establish purpose, create desire for change, goals planning, and start with the end in sight.
  • What is expected of me during sessions?  Simply an initial desire to “change” some aspects and a willing to learn - What can I expect of you? Enthusiasm for your change, commitment to see the job through to the end and professionalism and confidentiality. A start towards your life long learning.
  • Can you refer me to other related services if I need them?  Yes – this is sometimes needed due to the limited time we have together.
  • Do you assign "homework" between coaching sessions? Yes – there is some reading usually chapters of books (not the whole book!) handouts and occasional tasks.
  • Would we work in person or over the phone? Both.
  • Do you charge by the hour, the session, or the project for your services?  The minimum 6 sessions.
  • Do you guarantee your work in any way? No – much of what I do relies on our ability to remain focused on what needs doing – it is difficult to “quality assure” and if there was a problem I would know about it as the sessions are intensive.  I can guarantee positive change will take place and whilst I have not come across a unhappy customer there is always a first time I would therefore willingly offer a full and no questions asked refund.
  • Do you have a cancellation policy? What is it? Sessions can be changed as long as there are at least 5 working days notice at no charge – less than this the full charge will be made.
  • Do you charge extra to work nights or weekends? Any other fees? It is not usually needed but if it was the case I would address this on an as and when needed basis.
  • Do you offer a free consultation or trial coaching session? No.
  • Do you have a written contract or letter of agreement? Yes.
  • What types of personal and life coaching do you offer? Individual change plan – this is aimed at the person wanting to grasp new ways to improve their life skills – this often means understanding power, change management and a shift in thinking – it does not worry about what you eat or whether you exercise although the shift in thinking will at some stage help you address those other areas ion your life that you feel need addressing – when you feel ready and able.
  • What types of business and career coaching do you offer? Business Builder – this program is aimed at changing behaviour and improving results either of sales people or managers wanting to improve their performance.
  • Do you coach in specialised areas (finances, health, relationships, etc.)? I coach personal individual development.
  • Do you work with groups or just individuals? individuals
  • Do you put on workshops or speaking engagements? Yes – I have spoken at various conferences and delivered workshops on change management.  Forthcoming presentations include Incredible Goals at the Professional Speakers Association and at the forthcoming Kuta Company opening night www.kuta.co.uk  along with other paid for engagements.
  • Do you work with seniors? Children? Students? No.
